Hi.
I have a bad back which is affecting my job but my managers are not being very sympathetic. Would I be able to ask my GP to write me a letter explaining the condition?
It's not that i'm looking to take time off work, just missing out a few of the jobs I do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If you can't do some of the things that included in your job role then your GP can't single anything out,it's either do it all or not do the job at all kind of thing.GP would say sign you off your job if you were bad with your bad back, like give a sick note for a week or so once in a while,my partner been signed on sick think the once cos bad back, but your GP can't write a letter to say you can't do this or other,as then your not eligible for job really.

You probably need to look for another job that cancels out you doing any of the things that you say you can't do.

if you are not capable of doing your job because of your health then you can be 'sacked' but they have to look into things that you can and cant do and if there is anything that they can do to make it easier for you to carry on your job then they have to adapt things for you - think of it this way though - you are getting paid to do a job if you are unable to do that job then you should leave and let someone who can do the job have it - the other side of it is that you cannot expect other staff to do part of a job that you are being paid to do
