Health Professions Council? Why Apply?

Just having a little trouble understanding this, why do you need to apply for this if you want to take up employment in the medical field (lab assistant) if you have a degree from abroad (Canada).

I think it will depend on the level of the post. If its a biomedical scientist post then yes

Biomedical scientists must be registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) to work in the NHS.
