no quick fix

join a class - and stick with it. hard work but will pay off.

my first sudgestion would be going to the doctors and getting a thyroid function test done. I did as I couldn't seem to loose weight, and found there was a problem.

Ok, this is not going to be a popular answer but it is the only thing that works in the long run........... Eat less & exercise more.

You would think that, and tbh I did, but I got diagnosed with a thyroid condition, started on meds, and the weight started falling off..... ok, 2 stone so far in a year with out really trying... not great, but it's better than where i was

Different kettle of fish if there is a medical condition involved.

Its the truth I'm afraid. I know it sounds patronising but it is the only effective way to lose & keep off weight.

lol well if you want it you have to go for it, new year new start all of that stuff

there are plenty of exercise classes out there no need for gym pals

cutting the carbs can sometimes be a good way to lose weight but you have to be good :p

126lbs sounds about right for your height to be honest, so dont sweat it. chances are your body is just holding on to everything and saying we dont need to loose any

lol dont worry i was kidding, she used to use this site i think http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/calories/calorie_counter.htm

she would keep on singing up to get something extra... like a food diary or something i dunno

also, try going vegan for a while... keeping away from dairy will make you lose lots of weight

If you lose 15 pounds you would be (technically) underweight. You are around the perfect weight for your height & nowhere near overweight.
Maybe learning to love your curves would be the best thing.
#25
yeah going vegan sounds just about the right thing to do.i was just watching DIETS THAT TIME FORGOT or something like that on tv...and it was very interesting.thanks a lot u guys:)

cool, my ex went vegan and i did to to make it easier for her to keep it up.... she did it for a few weeks i did it for 18months.... i wasnt overweight or anything to start off with but lost alot of weight fast so would have to eat alot more to maintain weight. in the end i had to stop as i couldnt keep my weight up as i'm pretty active.

good luck and let us know how it goes

Cut carbs to a minimum and up your fat intake for a month solid.

Then do the same for anoher month but only during the week. On weekends you can add some carbs in. (Dont go crazy)

I did this for 2 months and lost a stone and a three quarters.. Works a treat.

Green tea helps. Lecithin capsule help. But the only thing that works is eating less and exercising and cutting down on alcohol.
You have to raise your metabolic rate so that the effects of exercise last longer than just the time that you are in the gym/exercising.
I started exercising - jogging and swimming every day - in March of last year and lost a stone by November.
Yes I know that's slow, but I didn't notice it, don't have saggy skin and the weight has stayed off even during Christmas. I plan to lose another stone between now and December 2010.
You put weight on slowly so that's the best way to take it off.

I'm only 5ft 2" and weigh 119lb. I would give anything to be 5ft 8" and 126lb. I'm also constantly on a diet to try and lose weight though everyone tells me I don't have any weight to lose. My BMI is fine, I loathe exercise and can't lose weight even though I'm sticking to the Weight Watchers programme (7 days a week at present).
I think you have to come to the conclusion that if you've been dieting (and you've been honest about what you put in your mouth) and you can't lose any weight that maybe your body is telling you it needs the pounds for survival.

Im sick of it tooo!!
dont eat that much, go the gym twice a week and just starting salsa classes
cant lose weight :(

we should have a HUKD weight loss club :)
where we can all help and inspire each other xxx

P.S if you excersice dont cut out carbs!!
when you excersice your body burns off the carbs first! thats why carbs are good for you.

if you not active / dont excersice then they will just stay on xx

i get myself weighed at boots regualry on their machines and it tells me im slighty overweight, and it said i should weigh just over 6 stone - 9stone for my height!!!! if i was 6 stone id look ill!!!

im only 6Ibs over so not botherd but i do wonder if people take that seriously its a dangerous thing

soz but thats nonsense, a calorie is a calorie regardless of the time its consumed and the body will deal with it in exactly the same way whatever time it is, also when youre sleeping you probably burn slightly more cals than if you where sat at 7:59pm watching the end of eastenders in a comfy chair, as you breathe heavier during sleep and even breathing burns cals, the eating late thing is a complete myth born out of the fact that most people overeat when they eat late, midnight snacking etc
#37
have the ladys realised that the problem with some of you is not the weight.......
its just dissatisfaction with yourselves......... and sort of a desire to achieve perfection, the perception of which changes each time.
Some of you sound perfect....... (OP and simone10)
I know with some women it is a real problem....... and in no way would I want to discourage you.
But with the rest of you...... its become more of an obsession.
My advice, just eat healthy........ and be happy!!

don;t agree with you when i worked late shifts i was eating 2-3am in the morning and put on a load of weight as soon as i stopped eating late at night weight came off and that was the only thing i changed in my diet late night eating i would eat exactly the same earlier on my shift tried and tested:p

think about the earlier you eat the more time to burn off calories between your next meal
