For the Excel problem:

Even if it is the trial, it has full functionality for the first 30+ days, so it should be able to save to "Documents", also on Vista.

Try this: Click Start, then "Documents". Then with "My Documents" open, right click and "create new Excel" file, then double click this to open it up. Try add something and save it again. That should all work. Then you can try and create a new worksheet, and save that to my documents. It should all work.

Vista's "My documents" are store in a new place, and it won't allow you to save to another user's area without knowing their password. And... if the Excel file came from the internet, it could also limit what you do with it to protect yourself...

For the printer: Go to the manufacturer's web site, search for your model under "downloads or support", and then download and install the latest printer driver, hopefully for Vista. That should be your next step to resolve the printing issues.
