Hi all. Please help before my head explodes!!!! Have today bought a Sony BDV-E300 Blu Ray Home Theatre System and being a complete technophobe havent got a clue (even after reading the manual) on how to connect it up?? I have a Sony Bravia TV with only 1 HDMI slot, and I have Sky+ HD. How on earth do I connect all 3? Do you by any chance have any ideas?? I'm sure it is really simple - to MOST people..... ha ha ha...:)

Thankyou

should be a hdmi from the e300 to the tv

and possibly an optical for the sky box to go into

i believe the e300 only has one hdmi in, so u might be quiet limited to what you can run thru it

edit
looks like there is one optical and a co-ax on the e300 dont have sky myself so not sure if its got either or them connections to connect to it

there is component also that would probs work for the sky hd

i think i might be confusin myself here also lol

For the model of TV you are quite limited to what you can connect. There are 2 x scart , S-Video , VGA , 1 HDMI on your TV.

Connect TV to Sky using HDMI cable.
Connect E300 to Sky using optical cable.
Connect E300 to TV using....? (Thats the limitation)

I think you need to use an HDMI splitter and connect E300 and Sky BOTH to the TV using HDMI.

Buy a new TV......... :)

Seriously though, an HDMI splitter will probably be the only way to go, you have two things that have to be connected by HDMI to the TV, then optical from the Sky to the E300

Ha ha. Thanks folks. Kinda defeats the object of buying such a bargain, then spending another £500+ on new TV....:p
Seems like the HDMI splitter is the option... Aren't they really expensive tho???
Don't just love it when Women post technical queries on here????

Yep specially with e300 which is 5.1 Ch there is no point on losing the 5.1 sound from Sky HD as HDMI doesn't 5.1 Ch. HDMI splitter (this ones a bit pricey though) doesn't cost much and would be a good alternative till you decide on buying new TV.

The link I posted above is £17.99 delivered. That should do the job for now but you won;t be able to get FULL benefits of the new kit you bought.
