Should be lots able to help as Manchester has a fair few members here. May help if you add where your sis needs directions from. :)

I will ask me mum as she lives around the corner

Sure. You jump on a plane not sure which one, then jump on the train, then get off and then catch a bus.

In other words, it may help if you said where she is coming from.

Best place would be use the Traveline journey planner

Easiest place to find just get to the ring road, and follow round.

Think key part of the OP is "...public transport...".
Admittedly buses and taxis go to there, you cannot get on the M60 yourself and get there by public transport and just "...follow the ring road" to J9 or J10

Thanks but Trafford Center and Trafford Retail Park are two different places.. cut across by the motorway so it is hard to walk

Key is, none of us know your sister's start point, so no one can help you, sorry.
You're best using the travel planner i linked to before, or, get into centre of Manchester and for sure they'll be a bus from there to Trafford Park

And i live down south and wouldn't have a clue. lol

I see why the OP was cagey now. Needed help in and around Manchester, so chances were, only a Blue could help, got help, revealed location, and all the Bitter's leave. That's what i like to see :)

If you are struggling, the 290 from piccadilly gardens stops close by. But doing this she would have to go into the city centre first, this is ok for a one off, until she works out a better route.
