keep your child entertained for hours wathching there favorite cartoons, listening to their favorite music, playing fun interactive games or simply cuddling new best friend.
using simple drag and drop technology & the free software availible at iteddy.com

there is however no free softeware except a file converter online. i cant find anything to convert.
(cam with 2 kids show built in but cant find anything else anywhere

Quite right the idea was for them to have a site which you would download material from (Like itunes etc). This has probaly turned out to be a nightmare due to copyright, royalties etc. As for downloading your own media again copy protection and other things will stop you from doing it. So legally there will be not a lot you can actually put on it, something they forgot to mention on Dragons Den. They had a deal with BIBC for downloads via a subscription program. I beleive this through boxoffice365 whish is down at the moment. This is probably why it is been sold at half RRP by a lot of retailers.

Just purchased one of these for my daughter who is 4 years old. I work in IT so know how to achieve things when it comes to computers.

I got mine from Argos and I think it is Version 1 but I doubt it will make much difference when loading data onto the iTeddy. Firstly I purchased a 2gb SD card and I think this is the same for V2 of the Teddy 2gb is the max. Using the supplied USB cable (The one used for charging) I connect the iTeddy to my computer. I'm using xp and get an option window appear, from this I select "Open device to view............" (Think same as for vista but don't use vista much). You should now have a window with 2 drives, "External Storage" and "Internal Storage". External being your SD and internal being the internal memory of the Teddy itself.

From this point I ignore the Internal and open the External drive. I then create 3 directories/Folders: "Music","Pictures" and "Video". I should mention that there is no need for this as you could just put all files of different types into the same place and the iTeddy is smart enough to put them into the right category when started, I just do it to keep things from being cluttered.

So where do I get my content (WARNING!!! I am no Copyright laws expert so I leave it to you to decide what to put on the iTeddy)

Music Files: Placed into the Music folder created earlier. I use windows media player for this or if I have the music file already on the PC I use that. Content can be got from online sites, your own CD music collection and a number of other sources.

Pictures:Placed into the Picture Folder. Content can be got from internet(some images may be protected by copyright) best place for me is my trusty digital camera. I would say you might want to get an image editing software to change the size of the image as some hi rez images can be very large 5mb+. Remember the Teddy has a small screen so no need for such a size aim for around the 200kb mark.

Up to now I may have been teaching you all to suck eggs(Telling you something you know already :) ) and your all sat there saying what about the bl**dy movies!!!! Either that or you went there first and all the above has been a waste of my time lol.

Movies:Placed into the Movie Folder. Content can be got from internet. However, the only location I trust or use myself on the internet is the BBCiPlayer. go to their website and children's category then pick a program and some, not all have the ability to download the content in mobile format. Be warned when placing these files onto the ITeddy it might warn you it may not be compatible, but all have worked for me even though it is worth noting some programs have a time limit.

Another method for movie content that I use is by way of a piece of software called "Pocket-DVD Studio" from a site called "www.pqdvd.com". There are others but i found this to work the best.

Hope some of this helps those of you who feel the iTeddy is no good just because content is hard to find. I do agree the need to add more to their site. But if you know a few helpful pieces of software then you have access to a mountain of content.

Good luck all

Yes agreed the instructions are very limited. Is there anything in particular you are trying to do? I would me more than happy to try and help resolve your issues.

My daughter loves her bear and it would be a shame if you were to send it back just because the makers of the product failed to produce a decent manual. But maybe by sending it back or returning it might force them to get of their collective butts and sort out the instructions and the other main issue with this product, the website or lack of website.

I am pro iTeddy because I have managed to find ways around the issues. Those who have not are quite rightly disappointed with their purchase and I don't blame them.

Bought one for christmas for my little girl, what a mistake. ended up replacing it twice, then had to have a refund, The guy in argos said no one is happy with them and most of them get returned, which is a shame because the concept is great.
Good luck!!
