Hi,

It would be a bit more helpful if you advised what you'll be using the laptop for?

Music?
Video?
Internet?
Skype?
Basic Games?
Portability?

All the laptops come with Vista which in my opinion needs 2gb to run without painfully lengthy loading times and perform some simultaneous tasks. Pentium Core 2 Duo also makes a big difference when compared to AMD and Celerons. The last laptop also seems good value for money, however when looking at the £350 mark there's quite a few around...

For the money you'll save by going for a cheaper laptop, you'll lose paying in memory upgrades or a complete upgrade in a shorter time.

Hope this helps

Thank you for your help thats great. I would only be using it for the internet, Music, and video.

What do you think of the quality of acer. I had a acer desktop pc and i never had any problems with it but i wasn't sure about laptops. Are advent any good, i read somewhere that they were poor quality.

Acer are seen as a more budget brand but they also make some very high end stuff. I've used their laptops in the past, my friend recently purchased a 12" screen one which seemed realyl solid and stylish.

If you pick the particular model you like and then google it for reviews; you should find someone/website with unbiased views. However some of these sites can be over critical, so read a few before making a solid decision.

As for what you're using the laptop for... music can be the killer regarding speed. If you're using itunes you need 2gb ram and preferably a Core 2 Duo processor.

I've personal experience with the acer 7520 and the quality isn't great (the keyboard especially is poor).

If you need good quality then why not look at laptops in the flesh and buy which one seems best there? Performance isn't going to vary that much at the same price.
