i have used genesreunited...you can look at some records free and pay for the actual certificates-i think it was around £1.50 each view...and you can just add £5 credit i think.

first let me start by saying I'm absolutley no expert in this but I have just started to trace my fathers side of the family and have been looking for similar info to what you seem to be.

I bought 50 credits today (£5) on this site which allows you to search for the births lists by date if you have a name http://www.thegenealogist.co.uk/

Once you have that info you can then order a copy of the actual birth certificate from here at a cost of £7 delivered I think!
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp

If its any use to you I have a number of credits left so if you PM me as much detail (full name, date of birth, location / region of birth) then I'll happily do a few searches for you to see if I can find the info you need to order the birth certificate........this is voluntary and free as I don't expect to use all my credits!

lovely gesture! on genesreunited(i think it is) you can fill in your family tree too and search for others who have matches on your tree.
