HI guys! i have recently purchased the Samsung LE40B530 from JL but seem to have a slight issue with the picture. i seem to be getting a perfect picture on all channels apart from the movie channels (sky premier and the others). it seems quite dark and also the quality of the picture looks poor, as if its like a cheap film.. Is any1 else having the same issue? Or does any one know how i can sort this out? Also, on bbc news on the top right od the screen where it says press red i have a green tint to the left of that.. any advise? Thanks

i know the movie channels use macrovision signals, as well as videoguard (which is used for all sky subscription broadcasts)

you should not be having issues with macrovision if you are using HDMI, if you are using compsite or scart, you may get the darkness you mention. as for the green tinge, u may just explain this to JL and see if they swap it out.

Thanks for the reply. i am using scart leads as box doesnt have hdmi and the green tint thing is just ont he top left of bbc news. the rest of the cannels seem fine. so you think the reason im seeing darkness is because of the scart then? do you have the same model tv? have you managed to get the usb activated for media playback or not even attempted?

That's strange, i'm using a Samsung plasma tv and a sony tv for multiroom and picture quality seems fine using both scart and hdmi. I use scart for the multi room and hdmi for sky hd no picture probs at all. Try it on a different tv and see what happens? I doubt it's your tv, couldbe something to do with the cables or unless your watching sky through something like a dvd recorder, not to sure about that but try connecting the sky directly to the tv if you havent done already
