Depends on what you're looking to buy. Used car sales are very good at the moment, so don't expect huge discounts unless you're buying something less than desireable, like a CR-V petrol auto or Accord.

What are you looking to buy and where?

the guys in the garage have to sell a cretain amount of cars per month. The last day of the month is the best day to buy as they are desperate too meet their targets.

Oh, a new shape Civic. The i-Shift isn't without it's problems, but generally a good car. You should be able to haggle a discount, as long as you've no PX and as far as "discount for cash" is concerned forget it in these days. Negotiate a good finance rate of 3-4% as a BASE rate, not APR.

The statement about monthly targets is true, but as used cars are selling in big numbers this month I've sold 12 of my 18 target already, so most salesmen will be doing OK as well.

Beat them with your trolley bag until they give in.

If your gonna buy a Honda you must be over 60 anyway.
