Not sure if you can do it with a hamster but when my cat gets a bad eye i make tea (without milk) and bathe the eye. Hope he is ok :)

It's covering the whole of the eye, so no.

hi try bathing th eye in warm water with a cotton ball but try and call an emergency vet to see what they say

The hamster will need a course of Abs and depending on the severity, maybe eye drops. Don't do anything without seeing a vet first, not even simple things like bathing the scab.

Yeah this thread reminded me, I checked on mine too, It's dead :( Looked a bit thin, been a few weeks since i looked at it. Ah well, think i'm gonna by a jack russell tommorow.

snailman are you saying you having checked or held your hamster for a few weeks if this is true i seriously think you should rethink the idea of getting a jack russell due to the fact that if you cant look after a hamster you are no way capable of looking after a dog
