HELP headphones!

I was listening to some music using a friends rediculously priced Monster Beats by Dr Dre (the small overhead ones) and thought the sound was really good, especially the base.

But tbh im not willing to pay that much for a pair of headphones. Does anyone know what headphones give the same quality of sound, especially bass.

Thank You everyone!

Skull Candy, seinheiser,. With beats your not paying for the quality, your paying for the name, much better headphones and earphones out there than beats

Bought these when they came out, must have been 10 years ago or something. Amazing then and still are now. First pair have lasted ages and were well used, still using them now in work. The plastic/rubber ear bits started cracking recently with ages but have cut them off to continue use.

Recently bought another pair a year ago to replace.

Thank You both. I am looking more for the headphones rather than earphones though.

DannyM do you know of the best place to get them? Which make would you choose? Any model in particular? Thank You!

I only use earphones and i use them only for the gym. But recently purchased skullcandy headphones for the other half, and although she isnt big on sound quality still no complaints about anything with them. Bought a pair of seinheisers a while back for another family member for just travel and that and theyve now lasted a year with constant travel abroad. i dont know how much quality your after, again depends on the budget :)

I've heard skullcandy aren't so great with sound and build quality, i've been told they're just fashion.

£30 budget.

Wow met-cast thank you for those links, I'd say im deciding between the expensive sennheisers or the Sony MDR-V150's because of their size, Im wondering though is there anything in the £20 - £30 range that sounds better than the cheaper sony's?

No problem mate I was in the same situation I bought the MDR-V150 because of their size and the quality is great many people doubt that it's £10.

I will have a look for you

Probably right, but as long as shes happy and im not using them then im happy :)

Why not just save up and get the dre beats when they drop down a bit ? either that or when people are going on holiday get them to pick them up duty free

Yeah skullcandy are pretty terrible ,Got three sets for the sons but wouldnt use them myself

Seinheisser will sound good but any regular use will result in them breaking within 3 years, guaranted, spent nearly £500 on them over the years, fed up the disgusting build quality I went back to where i began: Sony

Right now i have Sony MDR-XDR700's connected to my bedroom amp.

3 years isnt bad for a set of headphones at 30 pound, i buy wee rubbish sets for my use and they last upto 4 months for a couple of pounds, but as has been said my use is just for one thing :)

wikipedia
Skullcandy's products are targeted at the outdoor action sports demographic (snowboarders, skateboarders, etc.)

Which about says it all about Skullcandy. And I'll second what Caspar says about spending more - more you spend the better it's going to sound, and it's kinda madness to spend £200 on an iPod, hundreds, maybe thousands on music to go on it, and then begrudge spending more than a few quid on the part that pumps it into your brain.

Or buy cheaper headphones for listening to music on the go and buy a decent system for the house where you can appreciate the music :)
