Hello, can someone tell me how to clear cookies and temp internet files on XP? I used ME until recently and they were just there in files called "cookies" and "temp". This is for the benefit of using Quidco that I need to know.
Many thanks.
When I go to the C:Windows/Temp file all it has in it is - hpistr.hpi . And cookies I can't seem to find anywhere. (normally they are in the biscuit jar and I just eat them!!)

Hi shibi,

Download c cleaner for free and it will do all that for you.

Just remember to shut all internet windows (at least the ones relating to any sites you want cash back on, then click on it to run it.

I use c cleaner and my quidco tracks everytime

Good luck! Kel
Thanks, I'll try that.
No problem

You can also do it by clicking on the tools tab of the internet bar, go down to internet options. On the general tab you should see the button saying delete cookies and delete history.

I'd still recommend the c cleaner though as it improves your file space and has a multitude of other tasks it can do for you.
I use CCleaner, does the job and does it well. :)
Here's handy links for clearing cookies:-

What I do is to clear selective cookies as follows:-

Firefox Browser
[*]Open Firefox and go to Tools | Options.
[*]Click Privacy.
[*]Click the "Show Cookies" button
[*]Type in the domain of the site in the search box e.g. swiftcover
[*]All matching cookies are listed. Block select cookies and click the Delete Button

Opera Browser
[LIST=1][*]Tools->Advanced->Cookies[*]Enter domain into search box e.g swiftcover[*]Block Select Items[*]Click Delete button
