These are both external hard drives.

Seems Western Digital MyBook make various editions such as Studio Edition, World Edition, Essential Editiion, Office Edition etc so not sure what al the differences are.

You can get a 500Gb My Book External Hard drive new for about £54 upwards

You can get a 1Tb My Book External Hard drive new for about £80 upwards

The 1Tb will be better as it is twice as big as the 500Gb (1Tb is 1000Gb)

Note I have added this to my append

I think they have stopped making the "Office" edition and replaced it with the "Essential" edition.

You can get the 1Tb Essential from Tesco for £70 so dont pay more than that (less if it is second hand)

YOU may know that, but it was not clear the poster knew that 1Tb was biger than 500Gb.

The poster did ask which one was better.

You're quite right, I'll consider my wrist slapped. Upon re-reading the OP it's clear you were just being helpful and not stating the obvious. :|
