HELP: I want a HTC Desire HD --> Cheap as possible.

The challenge is to get the cheapest HTC Desire HD possible. The conditions are: Must have 'some' minutes, at least 100 texts and at least 500mb internet/month. My current contract/budget is: £25/mo. However it is cut (all upfront, or spread across 18/24 months I don't mind {£450 (18 mo.) £600 (24 mo.)}).

I have researched quite a few routes into buying it cheaply so to save you some time my ideas so far have been:

1) Buying the phone outright and then finding a contract deal such as simplicity.

2) £720 - take a contract £30/mo. T-mobile via mobile phones direct.

*1 - The cheapest I can find: you can buy the phone sim-free from play.com with 3.5% cash back at ~£455 this would leave £265 to cover a 2 year period in mobile phone bills.

3) Wait until after x-mas, let all the bugs be sorted out, read the reviews that hate the product and save yourself £700... Ok, not a great suggestion but still it's there on the table.

I am sure I am not the only person here wanting it at this level of a contract, there must be a way to get it cheaper either today/tomorrow or in a month's time. Keep this thread active and up to date with the best, latest deal.

Thanks for reading and more so for any help!

Buy the phone outright then go on a rolling contract and just sell it when you want to upgrade. Should hold some value unless theres a major breakthrough in phone technology in the next few years.

In that case, is Play.com still the best place to buy it ?

tesco still have their £10 1 month rolling deal for 500 mins 3000 texts and 500mb data.
although this deal ends on the 10th so make up your mind sharpish!

That's a nice offer Jetpac, but what's the Tesco coverage like?

I have a Tesco phone and the coverage has been excellent for me. I think they use the 02 network.

Ok, the small problem is I am due for a phone upgrade in 4 days, the desire hd is out in under 10 days but officially I have over 2 months left on my current contract, I do not think the tesco mobile deal is great for me at the moment as I would have to run 2 contracts at the same time. Wish the offer was running after I come out of my current contract as its much cheaper than what I am paying for less (however vodafone have great coverage).

Looks like we will all have to wait until the end of October due to delays from Google (for testing purposes) :|

I'm also waiting for this phone. Going to wait a few weeks until its fully out of all networks. Its far too expensive at the moment and for that price may as well get an iPhone 4.

The best deal at the moment is:
t-mobile £25/month, 2 year via e2save

Incase anyone finds this thread and wants to know ;)
