Help!

My mother-in-law is getting married, and says that she doesn't want a present. (Instead, she got presents when they announced their engagement). She is very adament that she doesn't want anything. (she's having an ultra-low-key wedding, with no guests at all - just the two of them ... sounds really chilled !)

But, I'd feel crap not getting her anything - so any ideas for a nice, low value present ?
(if it was high value, she'd hit me, and I'm quite scared of her !).

buy them a nice towel set (his and hers) – but here's the trick: wrap a short break holiday (ie train/flight tickets + hotel reservations) ... somewhere nearby. check their dates and also make sure they open it hahahaha.

If she says that she doesn't want anything than IMO it's best not to get her anything. You could invite them round for a special family celebration after the wedding, maybe.

some great ideas here .... thanks!

I love the idea of a 'this is your life' book, but she has no photos at all - she's one of those people that won't have her photo taken

any other ideas, before I pick?
BTW, I'll rep everyone who gives good ideas (even the knife juggling idea from blaster !). I really am THAT desperate for suggestions!

TIA

the knife set

LOL

No, in the end I found a clematis called 'wedding day' that they can plant, and look at forever. (ie until she kills it).
We bought them a big gift for their engagement, as she said then that they didn't want wedding presents, so I don't feel too tight having already spent £200 on them a year ago :-)

Thanks again everyone !
