I have an iPod touch 2g which was jailbroken, I tried to restore it and it came up with an error, its stuck in recovery mode with the screen displaying the charger connector and iTunes logo. Can anyone help how I can get it back to normal mode.

Any help appreciated.

let the power drain out of it completely then try again-sometimes works

google dfu mode, it will then need a restore after its finished and then re jailbreak if required. bear in mind that you can only get the latest firmware (4.1) and the jailbreak for this hasn't been released yet, but apparently its finished

Mine did this, as above restore using dfu mode but there shouldn't be any trouble restoring to os4 then jailbreaking (you can restore to any version you get hold of, but for now don't go above 4.0).

This site allows you to download the various versions of os:

Once restored, I followed the below link to jailbreak, worked first time for me:

http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=10189

A quick rundown is to get the ipod into dfu mode, then with it connected to itunes click 'Restore' while holding the shift key down, This allows you to select the file to restore, so then select the one you have downloaded (don't download anything higher than 4.0). This will restore back to original settings, then follow above guide to jailbreak.

You may be able to skip restoring and just follow the jailbreak guide, as that will restore and jailbreak in one (and guides you how to enter DFU mode as you go)

Good luck.
