I have a macbook which I use with an external 24" . The only mouse I cant have is the mobile memory mouse 8000 because its discontinued. I can choose any because my mouse developed a fault-has anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks

to most average users a mouse is a mouse, so long as it does what it says on the tin it's fine. lol.

If you're after advice on a specific need (design, editing etc ) it might be best to visit that kind of forum?

If you need it for basics and you can have any, pick the most expensive? lol

Most microsoft mice have a smooth scroll wheel so if you want it for gaming where a notched one is useful then you'll need to pick one of their gaming ones (intellimouse explorer 3.0, Habu, Sidewinder Series). Assuming you can, they're listed in the gaming catagory rather than on the page you linked to.

I'm very happy with my Sidewinder so I'd play it safe and go for that or the Sidewinder X8 if you want wireless. (the X5 is just a cheaper version of the normal sidewinder).

Unless you want something portable I'd avoid anything with the word notebook, mini or mobile in the title which should narrow down your search to the full sized ones.

If you want wireless then I'd favour one with it's own charging station or cable like the 7000/8000/explorer or Sidewinder X8.

The Natural 6000 (not to be confused with the other 6000) looks very interesting, it appears to be microsoft's take on the vertical mouse so I'd imagine it's fairly comfortable. I did try a 5000/6000 mouse a while ago and it was very comfortable but unfortunately I can't remember which one it was.

The mighty mouse has terrible build quality, I wouldn't touch it with a long pole.
