Hi, I saw a thread on here the other day about school songs (well, that's how the post ended up anyway) I remembered an old song our music teacher made us sing in class, but I think that as I wrote on the post about 8 hours after the OP, it kind of got lost
Anyway.... can anyone help me out and tell me if a) you ever sung this b) what the hell it means
Thanking you!

Eye tiddly eye tie
Eat brown bread
I saw a sausage fall down dead
Up jumped a saveloy and bashed him on the he-ad
eye tiddly eye tie
BROWN BREAD (we had to shout that bit!)

The music teacher also made us sing the frog chorus and various other songs that my kids sure don't learn now!!

I remember in school we once sung "nations of the world" (animanics song for the uninformed), I also think that song isn't politicly correct any more.

I remember singing that in school was called brown bread .......as far as the meaning goes who knows, but we also used to sing about...Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green,. Strawberries sweeter than any I’ve seen:whistling:

Beetroots purple and onions white, all (something something) day and night!! I had forgotten that one daftpunk!!

I didn't mean it like that and I don't think anyone is offended it just seems a strange song........ok a little stranger than other children songs.

We used to play "snug as a bug in a rug" on our claranets.

LOL..not really sexy tunes.

must be an english song, never heard of it! and we call a saveloy a smoked sausage so it wouldn't fit!

Few hits on google... http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=brown+bread+I+saw+a+sausage+fall+down+dead&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a

Seems a variation is this:
Hi-tidley-i-ti, brown bread!
I saw a sausage fall down dead.
Up came a butcher with a great big knife,
Up jumped the sausage and ran for his life -
Hi-tiddley-i-ti, brown bread!

Lick a lovely Luscious Lolly is one we used to sing

I remember singing that with my dad when I was a kid! It doesn't have any deeper meaning, it is just a daft little nonsense ditty. Sausage is just a funny word.
