How long have you been with them? I take it your on contract?

What phone is it ?

If your phone is a O2 contract phone, these are normally supplied unocked, it would be worth trying a different networks sim in it first before paying for a unlock code that you may well not need.

If the phone was a O2 payg phone then it would have been supplied locked.

Most networks charge around £15-00 to £20-00 to supply the unlock code. Voda and O2 are the only networks at the moment who supply their contract phones unlocked.

We yesterday got 2 new deals. 1st for no new handset, just next 18 months keeping current one..... Have 400 free any minutes, unlimited o2 calls and 1000 texts each month for £15. PLUS got a credit back of £150. So will pay £120 for 18 months, well chuffed!!

Then for other one got new SE C902. £17.50 per month for 200 any minutes, unlimited o2 calls and 400 texts.

Persevere, good luck!!!

We have been on £14.99 for 12 months, admitadly have been with o2 for several years. They will not want anyone to leave. Speak to retentions, ask specifically for them. Your sticking point might be if you have a particular phone you want. They tried to get me to take the SE C702, I said 'nah!'

If you renew your O2 contract without upgrading the phone you should be able to obtain a credit of at least £100 to be used for future rentals. Also, they also give loyalty treats in the form of free texts. This is what I got when I renewed in March. I'm currently paying £10p.m. for 250 minutes (plus 100 free texts as treats).

call 08706003009. I think it is option 2, but you need to choose the upgrades.

The trick, I believe having done it twice in a day............ First negotiate your contract, minutes texts etc. Then the phone. I found they tried to offer me a lesser phone than I wanted. Essentially they seem to offer around £150 towards a handset, not the price you would pay for pay and go but the price it would cost you on the contract you have selected. You may even be happy to pay a bit for the phone you want.

I have managed to negotiate a lifetime 30% reduction in my line rental which will stay with my account even if I change my tariff.

Don't forget to check out the reviews of any phone, and I would always go into town and actually look at the phone I am interested in. There is no substitute for a good feel!!!!!

We were on o2 for about 6 years. Went into a phones 4 u (never ever again!!) and were sweet talked into a 3 contract. Offered the earth but it was rubbish. The internet access usage was great but coverage wasn't and it ended up being really expensive after the inital half price offer. To change the tariff cost me £25 to make it affordable. The call centres were all indian, nothing against indian people, but I just could not understand them and they didn't seem to understand me.

Went back to o2 with my tail between my legs!!!!
