Run a virus scan on ur pc. If nothjing is fixed, reinstall MSN or u can do a system restore.

You could try doing a system restore, that might sort it.

In Windows XP Start Menu - Help and Support Center - System Restore

Have you added any software or hardware that has cause this problem.

What are the exact error messages that you are getting ?

What time does the clock/date say on your PC?

If the internal battery has gone inside, the pc does not remember the time and date will be 1999 or something, and MSN must have correct date to connect.

It's a long shot but might be worth checking

A little more detail would really help - do you get any error messages when you try to run MSN? If you bring up task manager, is the process for MSN messenger running? What is the exact error you get with the certificates? What browser are you using?
