Help! My precious HUKD'd for £21 Goodmans GCE7207i car audio head unit appears to have died... a bit

I bought it from Goodmans Direct when I found it on here and for some reason the screen and buttons do not function when I put the face unit on, I can still insert and eject cd's and the security light still flashes.

Would it be a good idea to get the unit out and unplug it then reseat it or do you think it has truly topped itself?

Just thought someone might be able to help, if it is kaput then alternatives would be nice :)

On a side note, I just saw this: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/248633/acoustic-solutions-ics60-car-mp3-cd

How does it compare would you say sir's and madam's?

Goodmans Support appears to be a bit naffed at the moment, ASP error :P

Give the contacts on the back of the fascia a quick clean.
That used to happen on my kenwood stereo.

U mean like with a cloth or a duster?
#3
Yeah a cloth, just wipe the metal contacts.
Always worked for me.
Sometimes can get dust/dirt etc which means the contacts wont meet properly hence the unit not working.

Cool, I'll give it a try and come back and let u know if it works :) I'm guessing not a damp cloth?

no i wouldnt recommend a damp cloth!
just a quick wipe over with a dry cloth should be fine tbh.

I tried wiping over with a dry cloth but still nothing appears to be functioning, any other tips?

I have the same issue!!!!

I can't seem to get it to work at all.
I came on looking for the original thread to see if it was still in warranty, if not I need a replacement :(
