HELP.my sons psp wont connect to our WIFI, WHY?

Hi
Could someone please help us, my hubby has tryed to connect my sons new psp3000 to our wifi, but it doesnt find ours only our neighbours, does anyone know what the problem could be, we have ps3 and phones all connected ok, so we havent a clue whats wrong.Thanks in advance for any help.

Could you not try connecting to it manually? I don't have a PSP so not 100% sure but pretty sure you can connect manually if you type in IP, subnet mask etc.

have you tried connecting with phone or laptop maybe you have the wifi turned to hidden?

good point actually make sure the WIFI switch on the psp in turned on first. I assumed the PS3 was connected by wireless but if by ethernet then this is most likely the problem.

Edit: Just seen post above.

What router do you have OP?

psp if i recall correctly only connnects via 802.11b, make sure your router is broadcasting at 802.11b

It finds neighbours wifi so switch is on

All this is done, thats why we are confused.

Not sure what router you have so will be different for everyone but SSID could be disabled in your settings in which case you need to enable it.

Update
When I scan, the PSP will locate wifi in the visinity, but not our Belkin (which has stong signal). This is strange as the PS3, Wii is connected to the wifi and our smart phones. the router SSID is enabled. The older phat PSP connects with no problem.
