Help needed!
Hi there fellow misc'ers, I need some help. I have a desktop computer at home using the Linux computer system. I have a '3' dongle(Huewei) which I recently cancelled the '3' contract for, as I was only getting 1GB a month for £8. I cancelled because I saw on HUKD that Amazon were doing pre-loaded 3GB SIM's for £11.25, which seemed to me a better deal. I assumed that I could just pop the pre-loaded SIM straight into the dongle that I have and browse the internet as normal, however, the dongle now won't connect at all??
Can anyone offer me (admittedly I am a computer tech novice) any advice on how to solve this please? I have read the instructions that came with it and tried googling it to no avail, any help would be appreciated, cheers guys

Jump to unread Post a Commentassuming the sim is ok it must be something in the settings on the 3 connection manager that isn't set correctly, check in the settings or try resetting a new profile
Open the 3connect dashboard,click settings,then advanced settings
click profiles, then click add, type any name for profile name then click ok
highlight the network name you choose and click set active, then click connections,it will say all changes will be lost if you proceed without saving, would you like to save before you proceed? click yes
then connections will open, click add again and type your network name for connection name,it will say bearer 3gb,leave that as it is and click properties
In the access point name enter the apn for 3 which is 3internet ,you dont need a user name & passsword
leave everything else as it is and click ok
then click add to profile, there should be 2 boxes with columns showing onscreen with arrows in between, highlight your network and using the arrow move it across to the left side in selected connections,if there is anything else already in there delete it,then click ok,then ok again and then click on the close profiles,
the dashboard should then show scanning and this should then change to ready to connect
