Hi thanks for the reply
It is a 1080p and whats wrong with lcd
is plasma a better option?
plus i thought with it having 3 years free warranty it was a good buy:thinking:

Take a look at Evesham Technology

unless you are planning to sit within 5 feet of the TV, then 1080P is unnecessary.

LCD pics are very poor at this size compared to a plasma (especially wharefdale) IMHO.

for £700 you can get a 50" Plasma.

Doh, I was looking at the model number ( LCD42F1080P ) which is the same. I presumed that
a tv with such a model number would be 42"! sorry

Also if buying from Dixons AW20 will give you £20 off...

To start with if your buying a 42" I hope you've seen them in person as they are HUGE.
Just ensure it will fit allright etc.. in your room.

Personally if I was buying a TV above a 37" I would defo be looking for 1080p as its said to improve the picture.

I would go for the LG (that I posted) which are meant to be really good pictures, and stay away from 'lesser' brand if buying anything above a 32". Hope this helped :)

Hi Thanks again for your help

Was hoping to pick up in store tomorrow
But it is delivery only any idea how long these take to deliver

rather than splashing out in haste, do some research or go into a decent store to see the differences between LCD/Plasma/1080P etc. ( I am not referring to currys etc.)

You cant go wrong with the philips 42" plasma for £625 after quidco as John Lewis have a 14 day return period (at their cost).

Don't know anything about delivery times but may be avaliable instore also?

With regards to LCD/Plasma etc.. I can honestly say I dont have a clue just hear Plasma's have got a lot better in recent years.

To be frank if I was spending that amount I'd probs spend a hour or two reading through http://www.avforums.com which will probs have a review on all the models and explain the differences!

Take your time (unless your existing TV is broken) all that could happen is that they will get cheaper...

:)

You soon get used to the size though. I have a 50" plasma in my lounge and that seemed huge at first but now too small! (room size is 18 ft by 14 ft and I sit about 8 ft away).

Avforums are great think everyones correct need to look into this without jumping in
room is 16ft x 13ft so a 42 inch should be fine

Might be a tad small. a 50" would be better but depends on how far away you will generally be viewing from.

50" is for >8 foot I believe and 42" is 5-6 foot away.
