Help needed - Buying a Wireless Router

Hi

Need some help. I have just bought a new laptop, with wireless card included. I have broadband, but not wireless, hence the need to buy a router. Problem is that I don't know which one to buy. There are so many, all offering different options, all different prices.

What can you guys (and gals) recommend? Want the best router for the best price please!

different routers seem to work best with different broadband suppliers, which one are you with?

I would recommend the netgear routers, they are what I have and i think they are excellent and have never let me down! If you are looking for a simple, cheap router then the BG834G is probably the best option for you

http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/GWirelessRouters/DG834G.aspx

and a review (note it talks about how easy it is to set up and use)

You can buy it new for £40.99,

but you can also get it for closer to £20 off ebay if you look there, just amke sure to get the newest revision (v.3)

We called and asked our service provider (virgin) who recommended a belkin model - so call up and ask your provider

I highly reccomend the Buffalo Airstation router that are sold at Amazon but only get if you have Virgin Meida broadband. Just reading the reviews of this product tells a big story of how it is vastly superier to Linksys, Belkin, Netgear etc.
