Its that time of year again - Mr. X I need to buy a present for a 13 yr old boy - dont know him and have no idea what 13 yr old boy (in general) would want for christmas, Its the Mr X appeal - I have two girls - if anyone with boys out there can help and advise, much appreciated, I think there is a limit to about £15.00 but I will also give selection box etc, so suggestions for something up to about £15 - much appreciated

£15 in cash.

dont think you can do that with the Mr X appeal, that would be perfect though - yes perhaps a voucher for music or something I wil have to check with the appeal

Do not give him a voucher. Why would you want to give him a £15 voucher than he can only spend in a particular shop instead of £15 that he can spend in ANY shop.

sorry to be thick-what is the Mr X appeal?

My 14 year old nephew always wants money for pressies these days. He puts the money towards computer games or books about computer games!

Hi hun, just left rep for ya! i bought an addidas set from boots and an xbox360 game & mag for my 13 yr old nephew - dont think you can go wrong with a computer game / gadget at that age or something to do with football or skateboarding normally! :)

problem is I do not know the child
Mr X is a charitable organisation that you have a list of underprivaledged children and you pick a child just by their name and age, you never meet the child you just buy something wrap it up and give it to the Social Services or whoever collects for the child
So you can see my predicament - the child may not have anything like a computer to play a game on and as far as giving money I dont think it is allowed< we have to wrap something up and put on it from Santa
the children range from age 0 to 15

hi my son is 13..and totally into 360 ..but as your limited as you dont know it cant be personal....most of my sons friends and my friends sons around that age are SIMPSONS daft!!you can get the box sets sometimes really cheap..(i got one of the older ones for under a tenner at the hut i think it was)..clothes is a bad idea as you dont know their size..they could be teeny weeny or bigger built...but you could go for a baseball/beanie hat..nike/adidas backpack for school or sport?anything branded is cool for them at that age...

You could get a football? A good book like dangerous book for boys? Lynx gift set? Top trumps (noone ever gets too old for top trumps!)

thanks for the help everyone, didnt realise it would be so difficult:(

Lots of the kids of that age I know are into Wrestling. So perhaps a wrestling dvd or shirt, cap or hat.

If you only have £15 to spend go down the £1 shop and get him 15 things then he will have lots to open, but you will lots to wrap! Then there's more chance he will love one or too of the items.

Ask him, my lad is into tech decks but it can all depend on what his mates are in to.

Sounds like a really good idea. We usually get something for the liverpool echo appeal, where you just drop off a gift at one of the collection points and they wrap and distribute them. Not heard of this one before
