Help needed for laptop hard drive

Hi,

I am trying to replace hard drive of my laptop. I know the process, but I don't know which hard drive to choose?

I have dell inspiron 1564, the current hard drive in laptop is seagate one.
Are laptop drive are 2.5 inches or 3.5 inches.
Any help??

    Basically your needing a 2.5" SATA 9.5mm HDD to replace the one in your laptop - you could also consider going down the SSD path (especially with the ongoing price drops). Do you have any specific requirements i.e. high capacity HDD?

    OP do you have the dell inspiron 1564 drivers disc ?
    I would also suggest looking at the SSD.

    Thanks all for ur replies. I am basically interested in hdd only. No.specific capacity as it my second option laptop lying around because its hdd crashed. I am having all its operat system n drivers cds. Dont kn how much should b the apt cost of say 250 gig one.

    Glad to have been of some help to you - with regards to replacement hard disks the price are still pretty much in flux but they are coming down. If you can wait a little bit longer hopefully you'll start to see some savings at the various resellers out there along with eBay as well.
