Looks like point of impact was around F and C

Thrash your son very hard.
And try sticking it on a radiator that is on low first off for a few hours.

Beat the kid so he doesn't do it again?

Take it to a local shop and get it checked out. Did you let it dry for 24hours before it was switched on?

Try a hairdryer on a cool setting aimed at the affected area

What was the drink? If its water, no problem, let it dry in a warm area. If it has sugars in, big problem, you really need to remove the keyboard and attempt to clean off any sugars.

What kind of drink was it? if its something sugary the keys might start sticking.....some netbooks have removable keyboards - it might be better to remove keyboard to help it dry better.

What kind of netbook is it?

Edit - Jah beat me to it....

smack your son over the head with it and claim accidental damage:thumbsup:

Lol! Great minds, or something like that... Seriously though, its not just the keys sticking, sugars (and acids in things like Coke) will slowly rot down the keyboard membrane or worse the motherboard if they have seeped in there, you really need to act soon if thats the case.

Sell your son. Use the money to buy a new netbook.

I did this to a laptop a few years ago.

I was standing above it with a bowl of cornflakes and accidently hit the edge of the bowl as I was reaching down to press Enter.

Spilt milk and soggy cornflakes all over the laptop.

I took out all the components I could (hard disk, battery, CD drive etc) and left it to dry overnight.

But in the morning the keys were all stuck together and it never worked again properly (the liquid can go inside the body of the laptop and rot or rust components).

It never worked properly again so I had to replace it.

Taught me a good lesson.....
NEVER EAT FOOD OR DRINK WHILE USING A LAPTOP / NETBOOK.

I've spilled coffee on a keyboard before now, ran it under the tap to wash the coffee out then left it to dry, worked fine after

The main difference between a keyboard and a laptop/netbook is that UNDER the keyboard on a laptop/netbook are the main components (CD drive, hard disk, motherboard etc).

If they get liquid in them (particulalry sugar based) it can rot the small metal components inside and stop it working.

Don't turn it on for a day or two so it is dry, pop off the keyboard and clean with Isopropyl alcohol.

Magic stuff. Solves everything :-D
