Its my mother's 50th Birthday this week and I havnt got any ideas what to get her. Not really good at buying clothes or jewellery. She doesnt really like anything technology based like Ipods.

The price range is around £100

Any ideas would be much appreciated

how about getting her a pamper day.

my dad turned 50 in november, and because he is really into world war 2 jeeps (he owns 2) and other war stuff, i got him the sgt bilko box set, which is also one of his favourite tv shows.

Parents love it when you get things that mean somthing to them. it doesn't matter how much you spend on it, it means somthing that their child has thought about what they like and got them somthing to do with that, instead of just a generic gift.

What about a nice photo album with a few piccies already in it to start her off? And a digitial camera?

Or vouchers for a film, theatre or towards a holiday (something she's into)

How about tickets to a show or concert, dont know where you live but it might be worth checking your local town hall, i have done this before and also bought a ticket for myself so we had a really nice evening together.

Give us a clue!!
What does she like? Eating out? Gardening? New secateurs and fabulous new pot for the patio? Books/films/theatre/magazine sub? Evening in with all the family? Cake/chocs & champagne? Subscription for National Trust & visit to her fav. NT house? Alton Towers?
Definitely NOTHING for the kitchen unless she's a mad keen cook.

Definitely something to pamper her and NOT remind er that she is turning 50.

Nothing wrong with turning 50 - might be something wrong with a society that suggests that there is something wrong with turning 50. I would say, on the contrary, celebrate the FACT that your mum hits the 50 mark - sky writing?:-D
