Help needed with a quiz question....Please!

I am trying to complete a quiz and have all the anwers with the exception if this one...
what number comes next in the following series: 5,5,3,4,3,3,4,4 ...
Is is driving me crazy - i am not sure whether it is related to a word pattern or purely number based. Rep given for the correct answer given to me in a P.M only please

I spotted that too - the sequence is so far down the line it's unlikely to be it (unless of course there's a hint in the question somewhere). I found quite a few number sequences which matched but again, very obscure.

Hmm. Thought it might be letters in the digits of pi but that would be 5534344.. (three point one four one five nine...)

It was an example sequence where the answer was known!
