Help needed with building warrants - Scotland

We are building an extension on the house got all the consents and stuff. Phoned the building warrants place to tell them we are ready to pour the concrete they said to take pictures of the depths and widths before we fill it cause they couldnt get out untill today, so they didnt turn up today and we want to get on building the walls now over the weekend,

so my question is do we have to wait for them to come and see it? Dont want to risk them telling us to rip it back out but cant afford to hold up the work either

rep added for any help we live in scotland btw just incase its different per area
thanks

Building regs are different in Scotland to England & Wales. Suggest you need specific local advice.

i would wait as my friend went ahead with a conservatory and when they came out it was something like an inch too short and they had to redo it and that was just recently might be safer to wait just in case i think it depends which inspector comes out also! good luck anyway :)

thanks we have put in a lot more concrete than they asked us to, and we cant afford to delay the work, as we are going on holiday soon and want to have most of it done before we go, grrr really mad at them for holding it up so much, suppost to be here at 10.30 this morning

they are a nightmare my friend wanted it finished for their daughters wedding and ended up with more work to do and pulling it apart was shocking as it was new and only out an inch or so not much in it at all! i think it depends on who comes out though so you never know you could be alright.

My mate has built his own house recently, he had invited Building Control over on several occasions, and they never showed up. Bottom line is as long as you're conforming to the required standards and have done as they request, you shouldn't have a problem. Bear in mind however, that all BC Departments seem to operate differently.

He lives in Newton Mearns.

I wouldn't worry as you've said you've over-specced the job.

take loads of pictures with a tape measure to show widths etc, if the concrete is still wet perhaps you can stick a stick in it to show depth and go on with the work.

I built a conservatory recently and the guy from Renfrewshire BC was really nice (not that it stopped him from asking for some additional works but i suppose that's his job) .

If you live in the Borders you'll have nothing to worry about, a builder near me threw up a detached house in the wrong position, over a meter off plan.

Borders planning department said it was Tolerable!!

Spineless shower.
