Im no good with Pc's either, far from it, But can you open it via Windows Media Player and rip it from the disk? Just an idea. I know i had difficulties trying to get footage from my camcorder to PC, but then again mine was via a lead rather than a disk.

Hope you get help soon

Exit the player program and in file manager find the folder on the disk called Video_TS then copy the VOB file/s located in the Video_TS folder on the disk to your hard drive and rename the extension vob to mpg and they will play on your computer.
