Help needed with washing machine

I bought a new washing machine in January, which has been great. However over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that some of the light garments are coming out of the wash with what seems to be some grey coloured lines/streaks, which won't come out. There is also a slight musky smell.
I use liquid detergent & softener in the drawer and also limescale prevention tablets. I also make sure the machine is not overfilled.
I am also in a soft water area if it makes any difference

I would really appreciate any help and advice.

Cheers

Have you cleaned out the filter?

I have had this but this was with my old washing machine and I had it a fair few yrs.

I can suggest cleaning out the filter is that blocked at all?

As you only bought it January,I'd complain and get my money back saying it ruining clothes etc.
Then get another new one, nevermidn repairing and all..

I've cleaned out the filter.
I originally thought that I was maybe filling it too full and the marks were from the rubber, but it made no difference.

agree with m2cc - contact manager of store were you bought it - tell them about ruined clothes see what feedback you get

if negative contact maker - zanussi etc theres only about 3 companies that manufacture them

get a new one good luck

Yeah get them to sort it out... shouldn't be having any problems after 4 months.

I would go back to where you purchased your machine from and explain the problem you are having with it, let them sort it out. Maybe best to clean the filter just in case though.

It's not really your problem as its under guarantee.

Hope you get some satisfaction.

wouldn't bother with the manufacturer, take it back to the shop you bought it from. tell them the problem. if they try to fob you off with "contact the manufacturer", tell them that your contract is with the shop, and it is their contract with the manufacturer. in other words you have every right to walk in, dump it in the doorway & demand they sort it. everything has a reasonable life span and i think i can safely say 4 months is too short for a washing machine.

by the way, if they try to fob you off with the proof of purchase waffle, remember that in law a proof of purchase does not have to be a receipt, it can be anything, even a person that was with you at the time you bought it who is prepared to go back with you and be your proof of purchase. decide what you want them to do, then go in and get it.

remain polite, focused on your goal and armed with as many legal facts as you can find - they won't have a leg to stand on!

i had a problem with homebase when i ordered a double jaccuzi bath & it arrived without its custom plug. the store manager tried telling me to contact the manufacturer. i reminded him that i was well versed in my consumer rights. he almost gave in but needed one last shove so I reminded him that we'd had the old suite removed and couldn't bathe the family until the correct plug was in place. i politely threatened to bring the family round to his house for a bath and he had the fittings from the display bath at my house within 90 minutes! the new ones arrived within a week (not only the plug but replacements for ALL fittings) and he didn't want the other fittings back so now we have spares ! result!

i had this problem recently with hmv online. apparently they are a separate company from hmv stores, not sure that's the same with currys though.

currys online says you can return to a store within 7 days. http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/editorial/services

even though it's been longer i'd still go to the store

Store should be first port of call... cos the manager should be able to sort out an engineer (or woteva they call em these days) to come and have a look.

Cant't remember basic chemistry that well, was a long time ago but if your are in a soft water area I don't think you should be using limescale remover, think its slighlty corrosive and may actually do harm
Aside ffrom that it sounds as though the drainage pipe is not functioning correctly leaving old water.
Check when u are pushing the machine into place the pipe is not being trapped and compressed, if its ok could be the water pump is failing and a warrenty claim
