Help - New Ebay Account problems

Hi all

Just wanted some advice. I am trying to open an eBay.co.uk account, and have signed up. The website, as some of you probably already know, sends a confirmation email.

Thing is, I haven't received that email yet. I have checked my spam box, but nothing. I have been trying for the past five days, and have asked ebay to resend the email, but no luck. My question is: does it usually take this long to get an account set-up with ebay?

My email account is with Gmail - could this be a problem? Or should I be more patient?

Every other kind of account I have ever opened sent me a confirmation within 30 mins, many of them within five seconds. Any help? Thanks in advance

I would check you've entered the right email for the account. I made an account for someone a week ago and the email was nearly instant.

Maybe because you're using gmail, maybe these class gmail the same as hotmail and yahoo
Enter your email address. Be sure to enter an email address that you can check right away.
Note:If you register using a Web-based (anonymous) email address, such as an email address from Yahoo! or Hotmail, you'll need to place a valid credit or debit card on file to verify youridentity. Your card will be used for identification only and will not be charged. If you don't want to place a credit card or debit card on file, you'll need to register with an email address from a company or paid Internet Service Provider, such as AOL. easy mistake to make, esp if you have 2 emails using hotmail with .com + .co.uk done it many times typing .com instead of .co.uk

Thanks again to all - it's all done now.

I used an old hotmail account (which got the confirmation email immediately), and then changed my ebay settings to my gmail account (which received the "change of email" confirmation email straight away!!)

whatever, and however, i have it all sorted now
