In January I upgraded my phone contract with Three and was told that when my son turned 18 that I could change the ownership of the contract over to his name without losing any of my loyalty discount. My son turned 18 last month and today I rang three up and asked them to change the ownership of the contract. However, they now tell me that if I change the ownership of the contract, I will lose all my loyalty bonus on the contract and that my son will have to pay an extra £7.50 per month. I only upgraded the contract because they told me that I could change the ownership of the contract without losing any of the loyalty discount, but they have now changed the story. I have no evidence of this, and would now like to cancel my contract as cheaply and as quickly as possible as I do not like the fact that they have scammed me into upgrading my contract. And was wondering, what is the best way of me going about this?





Btw fairly new to this, not sure if I've posted it in the right section.

Trying to deal with three customer service is futile due to them being a bunch of incompetent morons.
Cancel the DD, wait for the debt recovery people to contact you & offer to pay 50% of what they say you owe. The debt recovery people are actually easier to talk to than three!
Then never, ever go back to three again.

Wouldn't these conversations be recorded as part of your upgrade? Ask them for the recording of this upgrade after all i doubt you signed a upgrade agreement.

You may have luck asking for recordings of the conversation. My mum requested recordings of conversations she had with another organisation because they'd told her one thing and then she was hit with a big bill. She got the recordings to prove what was said to her and our local MP is taking the matter up on her behalf.

Contact three executive office, its based in Scotland and is much easier to deal with than India

have you got a store local to you, maybe an idea to go in there and speak to someone face to face, my sister had a contract in my others sister name and had it changed into her own name whilst still in same contract, dont understand about loyalties and stuff so cant help there, but confused why it would cost son more if staying on same contract
