Help please - Hannspree 37" and Wii/Xbox 360!

Can someone help me please?

I got my Hannspree 37inch GT03 yesterday. I've tried to connect my Wii and Xbox 360 via AV and scart. Both consoles give a VERY pixelated picture. I don't mean that i have super vision - the picture is pixelated and rough to the naked eye for both inputs and consoles.

If i choose pal-50 (from prev setting of pal-60) on xbox 360, it is better... but obviously pal 50 doesn't let me play any games.

Is there a setting I need to change on the TV?

you need to connect via something other than scart!! These TV's have great 'HD' connections, but are usually worse at Scart... Have you not got a VGA in for the XBox? Component cable for the Wii?

Well I just used scart to see if it made a difference. I'm connecting directly in to A/V.

I've got a Hannspree and I use the component cables for the Wii but I had to get another DVD player that had a HDMI connection as the picture was terrible with a scart. What resolution have you got the TV set to? I use 1080i but mine is only a 32". Hope this helps.

I've got it working with the Xbox 360, at 1080i using component cable.

Wii I don't have a component cable, was connecting straight to AV which is terrible. Guess I'll need a component cable for the Wii then.

Mine came in the box, have you checked? It came with both.

My Wii didn't come with a component cable... it just came with an AV composite cable and a scart adaptor...

Yes, my Hannspree was supposed to come with a HDMI cable but intekx didn't send me one. Will phone them tomorrow.

Get yourself This Baby and set the screen to 480p on the Wii and it'll look much better  But of course if you only have 1 component connection you will need either a HDMI cable for the 360 if it's the newer type or a VGA Cable, only but the official 360 one, it can be bought for about £10 2nd hand on the forums or Ebay :)

Thanks Robotochan, I'll buy that and connect my Wii using component, and I'll get a HDMI cable for my Xbox 360. (I've connected my Wii using composite and set refresh to 50hz, which works, but I'm sure I can get a huge improvement if I connect via component!)

Is there a difference between the official Xbox 360 HDMI cable and a generic one?

Nah, HDMI cables are pretty much the same. The reason I said an Official VGA cable is because about half the unofficial VGA cables give out the quality of an aerial connection!
