Help Please! Orange Phone Broken

Hi everyone,

Just after a little bit of advice. I have an 18 month contract with Orange - got about 3 months left. Great service etc a few days ago I broke my phone by knocking into a sink full of water and although I have the insurance with Orange I was worried they would not pay out because it was an accident so ever since I have been using an old nokia on pay as you go. I was just going to buy a new phone and then get them to send me a new sim out saying that I took sim out and it broke.. but then thought I should just ring them and tell them what happened and get a new phone since I have insurance - what do you think they will say - do they offer you a new phone for this kind of thing as I cant find my policy guidelines anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure accidental damage will be covered under your insurance. Even if you tell them what happened and they don't offer a new one (which I'm sure they will) they can't penalise you if you don't activate the insurance.

Thanks I am going to give them a ring now. I only had 3 months left so I wasnt going to bother but I suppose at the end of the day I am paying £35 every month.

I know this is totally stupid - thinking back I cant believe I could have been so stupid but I chucked my phone away in the bin cos it didnt work - now I am worried incase they ask me to send it back to them before I get a replacement....argh - should I bother to ring now - what will they say - anybody know?

Does that mean you haven't got it anymore?
They may want prove that it's damaged.

They won't just send a new one - else everyone would be trying it on!
Take it back out of the blooming bin!
