My husband has a Sony Ericsson K850i and can't unlock it! I presume the touch screen is playing up and he has tried turning it on and off but of course the "lock" remains in place when he turns it back on and it asks if you want flight mode or normal.

Does anyone know if there is a way of getting round this please or is the phone now completely broken and we've lost all his numbers?

Incidentally, I don't mean locked to network, I mean locked keypad I think.

Try talking the battery out while it's on. leave it out for a minute and put back together. Works sometimes...

you can change the settings so it automatically selects normal mode when u turn it on!

But the keypad is locked so we can't go to normal mode....

You can replace the Keypad on the handset, this includes the touch element which makes the touch buttons work... If you replace that then you should be able to get the phone working normally and use the buttons like normal...

I wouldnt recommend doing this yourself, just get it done either at a SE repair centre under the warranty or a decent local shop that provides repairs... The keypad itself costs about £10, so it depends on how much they charge to fit it for you

Just reflash it with SEUS.

Can I have a translation please?

If its just the touch part of the buttons, this isnt usually the software :) although updating the software wont hurt anyway you will just get new firmware... However doing so may erase everything of the phone :)
