Not sure about reliability but the CS reps are meant to be terrible and if something goes wrong they are rude and if you are lucky enough to get an engineer booking they dont turn up for theres a 3 month waiting list.

Put it this way. I used to manage a department in a nationwide multimedia retailer and we sold medion laptops for a while and when one was retuned to the shop, we all drew breath as we knew it would be the rest of the day spent on the phone to the s**t customer service and even the special numbers that retailers get go through to imbeciles. We had one come back with what we thought was faulty power so they said they would fix it by sending an engineer, we opened it up and it didnt have a hard drive! They didnt believe us and accused the customer of stealing it! STAY WELL AWAY!

thankyou all for taking the time to reply, you have helped me make a good retail decision, not to buy! may take a look at asus laptops as they have a 2 year warranty,

Of course it is reliable, no big supermarket will want disgruntled customer knocking at the door with unreliable products. The buuer of the unreliable products will get fired sooner than a canon ball! But you are buying from Aldi... not Tesco or Waitrose.

I own two asus products (an eee and a graphics card) and while the hardware is acceptable to good I've found the software to be rather poor in some areas. I would try and find out if asus laptops come with an unmodified windows disk so you can reinstall without their software if it causes any problem.

I bought a laptop from Aldi about 5 years ago a Gerricom... After about 2 years (it came with the 3 yr warranty) there was a fault - DHL collected it from my workplace and returned it to me (again at my workplace) within the week - I had no problems at all with buying from Aldi as there pc's generally get a good write up.
