Help - Royal Mail Recorded Delivery + I've lost my receipt

  RM & PO Counters LTD are subsidiaries of RM Holdings group so PO is not part of RM

  unfortunately not babbabooey........ PO is totally seperate company to RM, the PO are basically agents for RM, selling there service , they are seperare companies, thats how come you can't go in PO and ask them to track a parcel for you, you will need to ring RM or use the website

  your both right .......... they are both in the same group (like argos & homebase are in the home retail group) but you cannot go into homebase and ask them to sell you a tv from argos

  The Post Office branch theoretically will be able to get the tracking number for you, if they store the barcode and post code and are able to retrieve this information at a later date on the computer. They definitely process the barcode and postcode together as they scan the recorded sticker and print it on the reciept.

  i wll speak to the post office tomorrow morning. wont have time to get up there now as got to get my daughter dressed and the buggy up ect time i get there it iwll be shut

  Wait until after 10am tomorrow (to make your trip to the post office) as we use recorded delivery every day and it nearly always takes about 3 WORKING days, I think the early one was was very lucky and the others will be there in the morning.......Things are a bit manic at the moment but RM are trying to get everything delivered .

  Getting away from the point slightly but why oh why do people send stuff (worth under £36) to their relatives by recorded delivery? Do they think they are going to lie and say they havent received them?. It is a waste of money (and the Post office time). I can understand recorded being used for ebay and stuff where you dont know whether or not to trust the recipient, but ordinary post with a free cert of posting covers loss up to £36 (first class).

  To make sure it arrives, a lot of stuff is stolen en route. If it goes missing it can be tracked, we use it all the time as people sometimes sign for it (for instance in flats) and the name is logged also.

  I've had similar problems with Royal Mail this year but mine was Special Delivery Next Day service which still hasn't arrived. :x
  
  I did leave posting till the last minute but really had no choice due to a few money troubles during the first few weeks of December. And besides which they shouldn't offer the service this time of year if they know they can't live up to their promises!:whistling:
  
  Still, luckily I managed to find my receipt so have printed off a claims form online to apply for a refund. Just a bit sad when your family don't get their Christmas presents in time :gift::cry::gift:

  o just send my phone to be repaired and it was recored delivery however i lost the recipt and went to the post office i sent it from and thy said they do not hold any records of it and can not tell me my number. so how did they get yours back i would really like to know thanx.
