Take it the 360 is on while you are trying to get it to connect?

I'm running vista so can't help you, I've got my 360 streaming from my PC but can't see my network drive, think I've sorted it now though.

i have a few problems occaisonaly, when you connect it to the computer do small lights on the port flash? i know it might sound stupid but have known people to do this. Also when you go into network and sharing centre > manage network connections, does it say local area connection and enabled beside it??
