Can anyone help me please... trying to download some photos from my camera when I attach the USB cable to my camera this message appears USB Mode connecting....Switch to (menu) and when I switch to menu I get the options USB Connect auto/pictbridge??/mass storage?? which ever option I go for it still goes back to the first message USB Mode connecting
This has never happened before and I can not seem to get rid of the message all I want to go is download my files(photos)

Any technical people out there who can help would be much appreciated.
THanks in Advance.

Try taking the memory card out and resetting the camera back to default (in menu) and after that the camera should be fine. After reset go to the menu and then change the settings before you hook up to the laptop or pc....................change it to mass storage. Sometimes with the Sony a700 I have using the cable it gets a bit confused and resetting the the connection type back to the factory default as it was new works.

I would suggest you get a card reader anyway cos that saves all this kinda problems

If the Sony uses an SD card (which it probably doesn't) then some new laptops have a card reader built into the unit.......................have you looked? :)

Good Luck

According to the site for Sony it takes a Memory stick pro duo. Checked with Camera labs too and that is what they say.

The 1 in Comet looks better quality. And it does actually say it will work with the memory that is in the Sony you have. It should say on the memory stick if you take it out and look. Open the battery door and the memory is at the back..................just push till it clicks and it should just jump up and you take out..........................have a look. I would still take the camera or memory stick with you when you go looking. I would have said to get from an online retailer but cos of the upcoming Royal Mail strike I would just go to shops and get 1.

Use a card reader. But if you really don't want to, it's "mass storage" that you want to choose on the camera.
