Hiya,

Im hoping someone can help me please. I have a Sony Ericsson K850i mobile phone, and am wanting to get this unlocked.

I have been down to my local market and they say its £15 and it takes about 30mins.. Is this the best solution, or is there a way of getting a remote code to unlock it myself online... (some of these sites seem dodgey)

OOOORRRR>>>>....

Would it be better to find a kit which unlocks phones instead, so it may cost a few quid more this time, but next time it'll be cheaper.. in which case.. what kit, and where from

personally i would go to http://davinciteam.co.uk/index.html, unlock it at home using your usb cable.

i have personally used this site. they are very professional and very good at what they do.

On the off chance that it's a contract phone, and it's your contract or someone your friendly with, some providers will do it for free if the contract has been running for a while. Vodafone unlocked my K850i for free. I called them and they gave me a code based on my IMEI number.

i was with vodafone for a week on contract on the 30day sim, and managed to get a code successfully.

Three will charge £15 but only give the code to the original owner

Virgin charge £15, i think tesco are the same

Orange charge £20 and the phone must have been active for 3 mths

i think o2 you need to have the phone for 12mths, not so sure, but this is a charge, which is around £15-£20

not sure about t-mobile

what about applying an unlock patch? not sure if it possible on this model.

not possible to patch unlock these. virgin will give unlock code free if you have topped up more than £30.
