is it possible then to watch my football on a tft monitor as i plugged this into the 15 pin plug at the side of this netbook and it didnt work, have i done something wrong ? rep will be added we are also looking at putting on the tele but have put this in another thread xx

You will need to find the function button that transfers the signal to your monitor i.e press function + f10

Or go into your control panel/harware and sound/display and change display option to duplicate to monitor or projector or whatever option you have?

can i also ask while we on this subject...... what cable if possible is it for VGA on the side of the netbook to the HDMI on the plasma/LCD TV to enable me to do what Kebabjones is asking?

yeah -- -- look for the 'FN' button on your laptop

then look for the same coloured text as the 'FN' along the F-Keys - mine is F5 - has a small image of two pc-screens, pressing the FN and the F5 together then sends signals to the external VGA.

Watch out though - when i do this, the laptop suspends itself from inactivity - annoying!

no vga to hdmi i'm afraid...

Thanks for the info.... So the laptops with no HDMI are stuffed! i am guessing then it would be VGA to Composite phono connectons ( Yellow,White & Black)
