help - what is a bar line graph?

son has to do a bar line graph for his homework - is it the same as a bar chart? Help please, have googled & still not sure...!

    Yeah I think it is. I don't know why the schools change things lol.

    No its a combo of a bar chart and a line graph

    they are used to show to different information on the same graph. so the bars represent on thing then the line another thing (with an x axis on both sides)

    If its key stage 2... then its like a bar chart.. but you just draw lines going up instead of the "bar". There are no joins as the information is discrete.. ie no relationship between information... eg pets in a class... so many dogs... cats etc.. no need to join the information. HTH

    I am leaning towards this myself, but it does seem a bit mad - is either this or the bars without the sides like jonb2412 says ...

    I think it's just another name they give to bar graphs, it doesn't have any lines on it as such.

    Thanks for that, think that is what jonb2412 said too - oops, looks like I have picked the wrong one as he has already done it this morning and we went with the one garbage456 posted! Oh well it will be all my fault now!
