Me and my girlfriend been together a while...nearly five years (few breaks however) and its also her 21st just before as well.
Ive got tons of presents so far...over 20 and spent a fortune (thanks to HUKDs)
But am still in need of something major for her main present...

...so any ideas people?
no jewelery as she is already getting a couple of pieces from me and a locket from her auntie.

well tbh she is quite easy to buy for normally...but due to the amount of stuff i have bought her in the past its becoming more and more difficult.
Thus im really stumped.

Her birthday is 17th june btw...so timing for delivery, etc is fine :-D

this is why you shouldnt spoil a girlfriend, because if you do or buy everything within the first few years, after then you become like your are now clueless as to what to get, and it becomes boring as it cannot live up to what it was.

from what you have put, i can only put my own view on what you have wrote, but it seems you buy lots, and one could say buying her love.

I hope you take it in the way intended..

How about a Spa Day for her and a friend? A surprise party? an Engagement Ring? (unless you're already engaged doh!), Hot Air Balloon Ride with you & champagne?

Don't know about that....I got spoilt for the first few years but now I don't even get a card most of the time and it doesn't bother me :p

i dont buy her love...and dont worry i wont take it wrong way...but i get as good as i give...she is buying me a macbook for my birthday! :w00t: (half for my birthday, half because i been paying the bills for the last 4months!)

Spa day could be a good one, were just moving and thus a party wont be on the books as not enough people we know who could travel etc. Engagement ring...i wouldnt want to mix up her birthday with an engagement tbh. although have thought about the proposal, but still uncertain just due to my views etc (hopes she doesnt read this...)
Quite liking the hot ballon and champers though...not too sure how i will cope with the heights...

Its called money management...i dont come from a rich background, ive worked since i was 14/15 and thus i have just learnt to spend my money wisely...(and on HUKDs!)
But the reason for our relocation to London is due to lack of jobs in Coventry, and she already has a secured job as a Maternity Support Worker on £19k pa so we shall be much better off :-D

Randomness FTW!
For her 20th we went to Monkey World in Dorset for the day she was over the moon!
Need to think of something similar, although wouldnt be on her birthday as she is working, nor the weekend after as we are travelling to see her family, and then on top of that she works normally at weekends as well...but sure a day off can be arranged

hey andre, does yr new home have a garden? how about planting flowers to spell something, or find a tree or shrub with a meaningful name (i got my mum a shrub with the same name as her a few years back and she loved it) I know these wouldnt be a main present but just a suggestion :thumbsup:

I love being romantic...just i hate heights! :whistling: its mainly just pure vertical drops i dont like...exactly like what a hot ballon would be!

Oh and Adam on 'my views' - hard to explain really, im not a great believer in needing to commit by making a contract with the person i love, i think it should be more about a personal binding of people, not a legal one. Also the fact that when do you decide someone is the right person for you? especially being 21 and all!

any suggestion is good...i like it. we do have a garden, im not much of a gardener...but i think even i can manage a few plants :-D
On the subject my mum bought me a rose gift set for christmas with my name on it!
And my uncle for my 21st got me some 'André Champagne' but said i wasnt allowed to open it until i graduate!

Eiffel Tower would be out of the question too then?

What about a weekend away?

A boat ride?

Don't get her one of those pamper things where they cut your hair and take pics - waste of time as they just try to sell you more pics!

Have you heard of a company called Venture? They do some fab photo sessions, we've spent 2k on amazing pics of us and our little one....good idea for decoration in your new home :)

From the conversations we had your views are valid, I understand why people don't get married, it makes me sad when they haven't really got a reason. My beliefs push me towards marriage, but my beliefs are a bit stronger then many.

Your mature enough to understand the commitment, and somethings you do for the other person, which is where the great respect comes into it.

eiffel tower = clichéd
she would much prefer Barcelona, since we went there for a day she has wanted to go back...

weve had one of those hair/makeup/photo things and its all about the selling of the photos, but i knew that when we went. although we did get some nice photos...

Boats = Big No No...she hates boats, she even felt sick going over to the isle of wight :w00t:

just alike a weekend away would be difficult with seeing family, having a family member to care for (another reason for the move) and also her work! :x
otherwise that was my most obvious choice!

Cheers...i just know how my views from even close friends have not been understood before on the matter.
I hate it when people 'just' get engaged, it should be more then that...*waits to see if my cousin even manages to get wed*
