How does this belt go on ?

I've got 2 sections of belt and each end as a metal ring on with the wider sash ribbon at other end,why was the belt just not in 1 piece,so it could be tied at back ? Confused, anyone knows or maybe you have this dress ? Thought I'd ask here before I contact ASOS C/S .

I think you thread the sash through the two links, then tie a bow. Hope that makes sense.

I'm going post up a pic via photobucket of the 2 pieces of belt.

On the link in #1 there a few pics of the dressed,I've zoomed in etc . I'm just trying upload the pic of the 2 pieces of belt,be up soon. I would have thought it been in 1 piece or even had a clip to join the rings cos 1 ring won't go into the other.

You'd have thought for that money the belt would have come complete! :D

make it yourself dress for that price! I'd expect it pre-built ;)

the wide bits is obviously to be tied in a bow at the back but it doesn't seem simple how the belt actually attaches together. I don't particularly want to return it plus I paid £70 something and it appears to gone back up in price before it sold out.

Yeh well I paid £70 something, the price seems to have gone back up,don't really want to return it,you have thought the belt been set up how it goes so you know.

Are there no buttons, velcro or snappers on the middle bits of material? Thinking they may be like that so you can adjust to perfect waist size?

I reckon the sash goes through the 2 rings.
On the side where there are double rings, the sash goes through both rings then folds back on itself and goes through the inside ring again. You then tie a bow. :3

I've kind of done something like that, and it just makes the belt double at the front, the pic just shows 1 layer, and it would only just tie at the back doing it that way.

Nope, there no extra clips or anything else.

Maybe they have sent you 2 belts? Can one part go round your waist?

seems the most plausible answer.

looking at the pic of the dress there should be a piece of material inbetween the two end hoops that goes at the front of the dress ( if that makes sense ) .....mind boggling , lol

Nope,1 won't go round, and plus each piece as the tie bit on end,so there def meant to be 2 pieces but can't figure how they link up.

I'm going try figure it out before asking, hence I've asked here, cos sometimes I can be bit blonde with things that can be so obvious. My Mum coming round later so going ask her too.

That would make sense nikki and then the sash/bow bit slips through the end silver ring at the back

Last resort get pair of pliers out and do a bit of diy on the metal rings, thats what I would do.

lol for the price it shouldn't need any modding, fair enough if sale item with a seam loose or whatever, I'll contact ASOS C/S after my Mum had a look,if they don't hve any idea I'll return it later in week. I ordered 2 other dresses from ASOS which I'm keeping and I bought a nice dress from eBay other week so I'm not short on clothes. There be something else to buy.

Tie the big sash end to the ring on the other piece and knot into a bow for the back.
Then do similar for the piece at the front - this time the knot is hidden (looks like a small umbilical hernia though :( ).

If it's too long this way, then remove a ring together with the fabric linking it.

Yeh it will be too long the way you said to try. What a polava, I had a look at this dress just before bed and thought oh I'll sort it out in morning. There must be a logical way for it to go without taking anything off though. My Mum be here soon,so will ask her then contact customer services.

I'd contact customer services, I agree it looks like a piece of material is missing. Maybe someone had the dress before you and that piece is missing?

ive had a look at both your pic and the online pic, looks like with your pic one belt has 7 bits of fabric and one has 6 if you get what i mean maybe try the 7 one round your waist, and on the online pic it looks like they have just used one because it one end its ruffled round the ring and the one you thread through it isnt, hope you get it sorted, they maybe just sent you the wrong size belts to fit the dress x

I haven't read the replies (but did spot the belt pic).
On the pictures the model has 6 rings to her belt (2 at the front, 2 to the sides, and the two at the back with the ties going through). It looks like the sash/tie closest to her body is going through the empty ring, meeting the other one at the front and tied into a knot.. So take the belt, keep the ties to the left at the back, wrap it round and take one tie through the ring, pull it to the front and tie into a knot. Im guessing you'll have no option to take pliers to those rings if its too small.. or too big - you'll have to attack the spare belt too then! Seems a faff for the price youve paid, but there doesnt appear to be much choice.

Maybe the only reason theres 2belts is because one is smaller than the other just giving more sizing options.. Or the fact you end up customising the belt to fit (spare parts!)?

Good luck, its a pretty dress :)

Thanks 4 the other replies,we not figured it out,my Mum had a look and we showed some other females too ( men not interested really ! ) I'm going contact ASOS later today and see if they can explain it simply,if not it can be returned free of charge within 28days.

Thank you for your email.

I've checked our inventory and unfortunately I'm unable to confirm the exact method how the belt is positioned on the dress as they are not currently listed. Sadly
I’m unable to obtain this particular information as we no longer hold the sample product.

On rare occasions when we are unable to provide extra detail such as this, we work hard to ensure that this type of information is available on future products of a similar nature.

Please accept my apologies that on this occasion I am unable to help you further, however if you require further information in the future please do not hesitate to contact me again.

All the best,

This was their reply I received earlier this afternoon. Just going return it and get refund. I was in M&Co today and picked up a dress £10 down from £45.

Thats really bad customer service you would at least expect a discount off future purchase due to inconvenience and they should know how to do the belts, who tied it on the model?!

I'm going return it tomorrow as not had time ( they give 28days return ) and I'm going put down on returns form that they should know how the belt goes. We've asked loads people, male and female, various ages and they not know.

I don't really mind the inconvience,I ordered other items and it was free next day delivery. If I paid for delivery and it been the only item I ordered,I would have asked for postage refund though.
