Help with a dating/singles site for a friend

Hopefully someone on HKUDs can help with this.

In our group of friends, 2 are already married, 1 is getting married next year and 1 is happily living in sin. This has left 1 guy who is still single and has been for a while. He is a really nice bloke but he lacks confidence in speaking to people he doesn't know well. Once he knows someone then there's no problem and he is actually very witty and can make anyone laugh.

What we're thinking of doing is buying him a subscription to a dating site, but we'd like to know if they're any good and roughly how much they cost. The price isn't really an issue as he's worth spending the money on.

Or if any single female HUKD'ers are interested in a blind date with a 28 year old bloke from Newcastle, 6ft tall, educated, funny but shy at first then let me know.... ;)

not the old "ive got a friend..." thing

In this gorup of friends..... why one are you, or is it the old "I have a friend who......"

Also: isnt matchmaking a girl thing??????

Anyway in my ifinate wisdom, you're obviosuly a decent mate and trying to do some good. mast dating sites require to write about yourself (dont you just hate that?)

www.mysinglefriend.co.uk is sarah beeneys website (she's hot and got wedge, so reason enough to use it.....) but its actually the friend that writes the ad.

Happy over emphersizing.

Ha ...." for a friend!!"

I hate to say this but does your friend really want a gf ? relationship ? not everyone wants a partner ..... maybe he is happy on his own being single ! I know a bloke who is 57 & is still single (no not gay either ... ) & I must say he is one of the happiest people I have ever met in my life !

As soon as I clicked submit, I realised that it sounded like a "I have a friend who..."

It truthfully is for a friend, if you still dont believe me, check my other posts where I was asking for advice on buying an eternity ring for my pregnant wife. :-D

To answer some questions:
1, He's not one of the "he's got a good personality but..." type people. He's not at all bad looking (he used to go out with my wife's cousin who is very attractive) but I wouldn't say he was attractive because I'm a bloke and to me he just looks like another bloke.

2, I'm not going to post a pic of him on the internet without his permission! If you are serious then PM with a pic of you and I'll ask him if he wants me to reply.

3, I know match making is a girly thing and the decision to do this wasn't my wife's idea at all.......

<<<<< pic 4 the girls..... straight, honest scouser looking for a girlfriend.

To prove my honesty I've already got a boyfriend but he's bent as a 10 bob note.

It seems the way forward is internet dating - all my single friends are doing it in some form and with relative success. Two of them have met their fellas through Facebook, I think it is the "Social me" application. You get to flirt and chat to people in there. Its a good way to build up confidence anyway.

I think sometimes the friends of single people are more bothered than the singleton. I am guilty of this and often try to match make single friends.

Anyway you sound like a nice person and your hearts in the right place - good luck

my mates sorta cant understand why im single and choose to be, whenever we go out its like oh he's nice and he's nice blah, blah de blah, and if my mates did something like you intend i would be mad as hell, i choose to be single and should i wish not to be im quite capable of finding a chap myself, they may not understand why i wish to remain as i am but i damn expect them to respect it

www.plentyoffish.com

All free, no fees at all to send or recieve messages. I've been on a few dating sites in the last few years and spoke to 100's of girls. Only met a few cos 95% of them are ungenuine, girls say the same about the men. Eventually met a lovely girl and I've been with her now for 8 weeks and things are going great.

I wouldn't knock these sites but tell him to be prepared for anything!

First thing you have to be sure of is if your friend wants a serious partner or just a girl who he can be close with.
Sometimes a guy just want's some companionship without having to worry about any ties.
